What if I’m new to Pilates?

How many times a week should I do Pilates?

You can do Pilates everyday if you wanted. We encourage at least twice a week. Consistency is key to feel the difference and notice results.

What if I’m recovering from surgery or healing from an injury?

Pilates's low impact method of exercise is a great way to rehabilitate post surgery/injury (after being cleared by your doctor to start exercising). Through extensive training & working with a variety of conditions, Canvas Pilates is skilled at identifying weakness & imbalance. Workouts are then designed to get you back on the road to moving & feeling strong again. Please obtain your doctor’s approval before beginning any kind of exercise program.

Is Pilates safe for pregnant or new moms?

For your safety, it is required that you obtain your doctor’s clearance before beginning a pilates session with us.

Marcia is a certified pre/post natal pilates specialist and has worked with pregnant and post-natal clients. She is experienced at designing programs that are suitable for your changing body to help prepare you for birth, help you heal, and rehab postnatally! Studio Policy

  • Please respect our strict cancellation policy. Canvas Pilates requires a minimum of 24 hours notice for any cancellations. Cancellation requests must be emailed to info@canvaspilates.com. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours will result in a charge for the full amount of the session. We truly appreciate your understanding.

  • In order to keep everyone safe & healthy, please stay home if you are sick or feeling under the weather. We require that you wear grippy socks to your class or session. We will have some available for purchase at the studio.

  • Please note the expiration of any packages purchased. 5 class/session packages expires in 3 months. 10 class/sessions packages expire in 6 months. Any unused classes or sessions are non-refundable and non-transferrable. If you are unable to complete all your classes by the expiry date, please inform us by calling or emailing info@canvaspilates.com

  • We are a fragrance free studio. Please refrain from using perfume, essential oils, smoke or cigarette smell as some of your fellow practitioners are highly sensitive. We want pure air to practice deep breathing.

    Our commitment is to give you the highest standard of Pilates instruction. Please arrive a few minutes early or on time. Please be respectful to others while in the studio and refrain from being late as it disrupts the class.

  • We reserve the right to cancel a group class or change it to a semi-private session should attendance be less than 3 persons.

    Teaching instructor for a group class can change without notice.

  • In order to join a group equipment class, we require at least 1 private session with assessment be completed with one of our instructors.
