Prenatal Pilates 1: Teach with Confidence on Mat & Reformer
Fear no more! Teach your prenatal clients with confidence! In this Part 1 workshop, you will gain the knowledge to help you design Pilates programs that are safe & effective for your prenatal client, using the mat & reformer. Together, we’ll review the exercises of the Classical Pilates system through Intermediate Level. This 3 hour workshop will consist of both lecture and practice, so that you can start to build confidence and practice your learning.

• Contraindications for each trimester

• Utilizing common studio props to keep your client supported & comfortable

Workshop overview
In this 3-hour in-person workshop, we will delve into a brief history of Pilates to offer context for the development of the Pilates method. Then we will explore the framework of Pilates via discussions on proper techniques and decisive concepts. Finally, we will analyze how the core concepts of Pilates can be adapted to and benefit a yoga practice. This workshop consists of both lecture and practice, both on the mat and on the Reformer.
Learning outcomes
• Gain deeper knowledge of Pilates concepts in relation to Yoga
• Compare Yoga and Pilates from the perspective of breath, strength and flexibility
• Add Pilates exercises to your current classes/sessions safely and effectively
• Instruct fusion classes
